Folarin Ashiru- Newsletter Editor

Folarin Ashiru graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a Bachelor of liberal Arts and Science degree in Psychology and a Masters degree in Education, specializing in Special Education. She is also certified as a Learning Behavior Specialist 1 and holds a U.S. certification to teach children from Kindergarten through the age of 21.

Folarin has over 15 years experience in the field of Education and uses her background in Psychology and Special Education as a consultant for various schools. She also serves on the board of the Kingfisher School in Abuja. She provides Educational Evaluation and Assessments for identifying students with learning difficulties. She has a passion for working with children and enjoys helping them reach their learning potential.

Folarin joined the International Women's Society, Nigeria in 2013. She joined the Executive in 2014 as the Assistant Newsletter Editor and is currently the Newsletter Editor. She also took on the role of the IWS Website Editor.

She enjoys anything to do with the education of women and children.  She likes working with technology, web design, graphics and curriculum design. Her utmost desire is to be involved with organizations geared towards empowering, preserving and promoting women and children’s issues.
