Mrs. Nwakaego Boyo - Immediate Past President

Nwakaego Boyo is the MD/CEO of Temple Productions, a full service production company based in Lagos for the past 20 years. Most of her film works are seminal moments in Nigeria film history.

She studied Theatre Arts with a focus on TV and film from the University of Benin. She made her professional debut in the critically acclaimed soap opera Checkmate, which ran for five years on NTA.

Mrs. Boyo went on to a career defining lead role in the feature film Violated which was her debut as a Producer. She has worked extensively in Video Film production, Corporate Promotional Film Making, Television Series, Advocacy Films, Documentaries and TV adverts for various clients.

She has been a member of the IWS for 18 years and joined because she wanted to give back and contribute to the advancement of women and children. She has worked as Assistant Secretary, Programmes Secretary, Chairperson Day Nursery (for three years 2013 – 2016) and Vice President.

Mrs. Boyo set up her own foundation - Temple MAI Foundation under Temple Productions to work on advocacy around these causes. With the mandate to produce and present visual statements for advocacy groups and other foundations; Temple MAI Foundation will also inform and educate identified groups and the general public through visual media.

She is a Global Rights advocate in the campaign against Sexual Violence, serves on the Advisory Board of Oando Foundation and is a Director at Lagos Preparatory School. She is particularly interested in advancing access for all children to early education, and in girl child education and empowerment.

She is also a member of the Association of Movie Producers, National Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (NANTAP) and NEGB
