From the Desk of the President; Mrs Nkoli Ogbolu
62nd IWS President, 2019-2020 Service Year
We are on the March once more and since we are in March what better way to express our desire to March for balance. By that I mean gender balance. A balanced world is a better world. Let’s celebrate women and their achievements. Let’s raise awareness against bias. Let’s take action for equality. Everywhere in the world, groups are calling for a #BalanceforBetter. IWS Nigeria is not left out. For over 60 years we have been at the forefront of an equitable environment for girls, women, children and youth.
Now in our Diamond Decade kickstarted by our 60th President Ego Boyo, followed by our 61st President Abimbola Ademola Bawaallah and now me Nkoli Ogbolu 62nd President our vision for the next decade, God willing, is to be a formidable indigenous charity organization with an international outlook. Since succession is IWS Nigeria’s blueprint for passing on the baton, 2020 will be led by Ibuwunmi Akinnola 63rd President until we Diamond Decaders complete the relay race to the promised land.
This year our IWS celebration is two pronged on 8th March, a competition for who will send the best #BalanceforBetter pose will earn the best picture a beautiful prize. No reveal now until March 12th at the 62nd Anniversary Special of IWS Nigeria and Investiture of myself as the 62nd President.
Second, on March 13th we are partnering with African Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum (AWIEF) South Africa to celebrate IWS with a Seminar featuring International and Local Speakers at the Lagos Continental Hotel. This collaboration is to showcase us as a very serious organization looking to enhance our objectives with regard to our Diamond Decade Visioning.
IWS Nigeria yearlong programming ensures that we are in the public space while living out our objectives which is primarily giving. Giving to our disenfranchised, underprivileged, hurting, uneducated, hungry, disempowered and vulnerable. Giving back to our communities and asking for the support of corporations and individuals in this arduous task.
I seize this opportunity to thank all our sponsors and supporters everywhere who for the past 62 years have heeded our call for humanitarian and philanthropic pursuits. May God richly endow them.
